Last week the advantageSPRING team was in New York City working with clients and partners. We welcomed a new North American Pro Bono Partner, lit the negotiation spark with graduate students, and shared our signature DEALS Method during workshops and masterclasses. Here are the highlights:
Negotiating With Heart
Head of North America Devon Smiley teamed up with advantageSPRING’s newest Pro Bono Partner God’s Love We Deliver to bring negotiation skills training to their facilities, donor relations and client service teams. GLWD provides 6,000+ meals each day to individuals in the New York City area who are unable to provide or prepare their own meals. Devon joined GLWD at the Michael Kors Building for an afternoon of masterclasses, case studies and 1-to-1 coaching to help the team negotiate with impact – and heart.
Looking Beyond Salary
Fall recruitment is a stressful time for many graduate students, and to help them navigate upcoming negotiations Devon joined the MBA and MSc students at Baruch College and the Zicklin School of Business for an interactive masterclass. Negotiating salary is just one piece of the puzzle for new graduates, and Devon’s class focused on sharing the skills students would need once they were in their new jobs working with clients, partners and colleagues.
The DEALS Method Is Always In Fashion
advantageSPRING CEO & Founder Natalie Reynolds joined Devon in New York for our Fall Open Workshop. Hosted at Space 530 in the heart of the garment district, the Open Workshop welcomed delegates from the investment banking, real estate, retail and NGO sectors. Participants in the Negotiation Professional workshop learned about different negotiation styles, and explored new techniques and strategies for securing their best deals.
Jumpstart Your Morning
As the week came to a close, Natalie was welcomed by Macquarie for a negotiation masterclass. Global partners of advantageSPRING, there was fantastic energy and engagement in the packed room just as in London and Hong Kong. Attendees learned how to spot which style of negotiator they are, and how to apply the DEALS Method in their work for the firm.
