The advantageSPRING team were pleased to launch their brand new development concept at NPW Live in Leeds last week with a high energy and vibrant keynote speech delivered by company CEO Natalie Reynolds. ‘Collaborative Competitiveness’ is an approach that explores what we really mean by collaboration, our natural preferences around reaching agreement and challenging the notion that competitiveness is solely about ‘winning’.
To an audience made up of representatives from businesses, charities and government departments from across the North of England, Natalie challenged the idea that anyone is ‘naturally collaborative’ and instead suggested that competitiveness is a core part of what it is to be human. Natalie went on to say that the key to effective commercial outcomes is to ensure that competitiveness is channelled in the right way whilst recognising that collaboration requires time, investment and creative thinking and isn’t always the easy option.
Initial reactions were incredibly positive with a large number of delegates tweeting the hashtag #CollaborativeCompetitiveness and senior executives from the fields of procurement, sales and relationship management all commenting how they could see this approach working for their businesses.
Over the coming months we will be publishing more detail on Collaborative Competitiveness along with our academic partners.
