On December the 7th Natalie Reynolds, Founder and CEO of advantageSPRING, delivered the ‘Winton Lecture’ at the University of Cambridge entitled ‘The Power of Negotiation’. To an audience of nearly 100 academics and staff members, Natalie explored some of the key challenges around effective negotiation, highlighted common mistakes made by negotiators and shared advantageSPRING’s pioneering five-step DEALS method. In addition she discussed some of the common misconceptions around gender and negotiation as well as looking at some of the negotiation challenges and opportunities that exist around Brexit.
After the lecture guests were treated to a networking lunch at which Natalie answered numerous questions on topics ranging from dealing with unconscious bias at the negotiating table and effective planning and preparation through to negotiating in a political or ideologically driven setting and negotiating in a global marketplace. Natalie also talked to guests about the process of writing her book ‘We Have a Deal’.
Speaking after the event Natalie said “It was a huge honour to be invited to speak at the University of Cambridge and I was thrilled at the fantastic turnout on the day. To be able to talk about our pioneering and innovative approach to teaching negotiation excellence in such an internationally revered and prestigious setting was a wonderful way to round off 2016”
